Shameless Promotion

No, not shameless self-promotion, although I am actually in favor of that as well.

I did want to alert you all to a fascinating blog I came across courtesy of BBW model Ms. Dawn Perignon.

It's called Christian Sings the Blues, and I think it should be required reading for any guy who is a fan of porn or wants to get into porn.

Why should it be required reading, you may ask?

Besides the pretty pictures of some of his co-stars and friends in the industry, it should be required reading because it is the unvarnished truth. The good and the bad - it's all there.

And I know that I, personally, love that stuff.

I also think it helps to keep this stuff in perspective. I fear that too often, we are quick to look at porn stars as just body parts - pussies, asses, breasts and cocks - and forget that they're people. It's also too easy to dismiss them as undereducated or uneducated airheads.

Are there some that are like that? Of course. But that's a fact of life in any industry - especially in the world of entertaiment (which, last time I checked, porn is).

However, when you come across something that is well written and offers an insider's perspective, that just gets my geek side engaged as well.

So check it out: http://www.christiansingstheblues.com/

Adultery and Pornography: Oxymoron or Strange Bedfellows?

Interesting article by Ross Douthat at the Atlantic. You can check it out here (hat tip to Douthat's colleague Andrew Sullivan).

Personally, as someone who write a blog called "Pornucopia", I find it laughable to consider hard core pornography as a form of adultery - in any circumstance.

I follow Douthat's line of thinking to a point, especially as he talks about the influence that the internet has had and the increase in amateur web girls and proliferation of amateur and pro-am porn sites.

But to say that watching an amateur film or a pro-am film is comparable to having an affair is a specious argument.

Yes, watching someone act in a pro-am or selling a home movie they made with a lover or spouse on clips4sale.com is a lot different than watching something like The Devil in Mrs. Jones or Debbie Does Dallas.

Or is it? Isn't it still just as simple watching people on film (or video tape or dvd or on the web) fuck?

Ross, a couple of questions for you: In order to make the premise work (and maybe I'm taking this to an extreme), would masturbating to porn that you shot with your wife and posted on the web be considered adultery?

Or is the act of masturbating itself (whether or not porn is involved) adultery as well?

Update: It appears that others think that this column is foolish, too.

Thank Heaven For...White Ghetto Films?

Okay, that may be a bit much.

I do have to say, though, that White Ghetto does bring it if you are a fan of thicker women and of cream pies.

And if you want to combine the two (as I do from time to time), then they have the series Big Fat Cream Pie, which is now in its seventh installment.

As I was discovering today when I rented a couple of films to view and review this weekend, it seems like there is a dearth of true BBW cream pie films outside of what White Ghetto puts out.

You can find the occasional scene if you hit up AEBN, but to find fully devoted films to this subgenre has been a challenge.

If anyone knows of a studio doing such films, please let me know so I can peruse their stock.

Yes, the cream pie is not for everyone. But again, as I say, this site also knows that adult films are not based on reality.

Hardbody? Ha!

I am not a hardbody by any stretch of the imagination.

I mean, here in the world of Pornucopia, the existence is based on the assumption and presumption of a fantasy.

The events that take place before me are not real. That much is known and true.

And so while I do think that there are lots of guys that would love to be a porn star, I like to think that most of us don't have the skills to be able to handle that kind of pressure.

I've never tried for the simple reason that I'm not in shape.

Actually, I guess I need to clarify. I am in shape, if you consider round to be a shape.

In all seriousness, though, I look at porn like I look at sports: I am a fan on some level because I physically cannot do it.

Or at least, I could do it. But I don't have the physical skills to be the best of the best.

So I watch from the stands and enjoy myself.

Dear Ms. Fantasy

As I sat around this evening thinking about things, I thought it might help to give some of y'all an idea of some of the women I groove on.

I tried to think about women that are currently active as far as I could tell. I think that a couple "retired" and then re-entered the business.

But when I see these women, I start to drool.

This is not a comprehensive list. I just wanted to establish a reference point.

In alphabetical order:

Aurora Snow

Bunny De La Cruz

Christina Curves

Desiree Devine

Eden 38DD

Eva Angelina

Gianna Michaels

Jada Fire

Jenna Haze

Kaci Starr

Kandi Kreme

Monet Staxx

Samantha 38G

Sara Jay

Quite the collection of character. With a couple of notable exceptions, there are some similarities.

Like I said, my favorite porn magazines are Voluptuous (and Voluptuous XL Girls) and Score.

Most of these women would fit into one (or two) of those titles.

What is this?

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

Who am I?

I am a newbie to the industry side of things, no doubt.

I am simply a fan.

When I was about 10, I used to sneak looks at a copy of one of Xaviera Hollander's "Happy Hooker" books that dad kept hidden in the bag that he kept the shoe shining supplies in. Okay, he also hid it in his underwear drawer, and I found it there, too. *GRIN*

Then it was an issue of Penthouse Magazine that he kept hidden in the same two places. I know he knew I was reading it, but he never said squat to me. I guess he kind of considered it a rite of passage for a boy.

After he passed away when I was 14, though, I had to turn to other sources.

Sure, there was late night television in New York City, where the local public access would run shows like "Midnight Blue" by Screw Magazine's Al Goldstein and I could catch female (and male) strippers on "The Robyn Bird Show."

Then a couple of high school classmates told me about a place that would sell adult magazines without carding - a coup when you're a horny, dateless 15 year old. Why was I dateless? Well, that's another post. *GRIN*

But before I digress too far, let's get back to this tale. This "store" (which was literally a hole in the wall on Lexington Ave. in Manhattan) sold me my first adult magazine. I remember how sweaty my palms were when I picked up the magazine (a copy of D-Cup) and held it in my trembling hands as I placed it on the counter before the guy working the cash register. He was a chubby, Middle Eastern gentleman. He looked at the magazine and looked back at me.

"How old are you?" he asked in his relatively thick accent.

My voice cracking as I said it, I responded, "Eighteen, sir."

"Uh, huh," he said, a smirk slightly forming at the corners of his mouth. He then told me how much and I paid him. He slid the magazine into a plain brown paper bag and handed it to me, his face graced with something between a smirk and a genuine smile.

I tried to avoid direct eye contact as I took the bag from him and put it into my backpack as I walked back out into the streets of the city. But I knew on that day that I was hooked.

I bought countless copies of D-Cup, Gent and Plumpers and Big Women magazines. I also managed, when I had extra cash, to get my hands on some video tapes. They were the 2 hour and 4 hour compliations (this was before DVD), so I got to see a lot more than I probably should have.

Granted, this was the early to mid 1990s, when it was a lot easier to get your hands on this stuff - especially in Manhattan.

Eventually, it was on to college, which was in the nascent days of DVD and the internet. I had moved on to buying Score and Voluptuous Magazines from the local porn shops in my college town. Once I got my car, it became even easier to visit these shops and buy what I wanted. DVDs made life even better, and getting internet access in my dorm room and apartment also facilitated more watching and learning about all of the little things that turn me on or intrigued me.

Of course, I've had relationships. I'm not a complete and total pervert that doesn't know how to interact with the opposite sex. If nothing, I think that learning from the early days of porn helped me become a more attentive lover in the bedroom. I don't necessarily think that that would be the case if I were 15 years old and just discovering porn today.

But anyway, that's where I've come from and how I got here.
