Event Promotion: BBW FanFest 2013 Pre-Sale Happening NOW!

As I sit and write this, the 72 hour presale for the second annual BBW FanFest in Las Vegas is well underway. The event is scheduled to take place July 26-28, 2013 at the Tuscany Suites in Las Vegas, NV.

If you don't know what BBW FanFest is, the first one was held in July 2012 at the Tuscany Suites and Casino just off the Las Vegas Strip. In fact, I wrote about my day at FanFest on this here very site.

As a Las Vegas local, a fan of BBWs and a supporter of BBWs in the adult industry, I am extremely pleased that this event is returning for a variety of reasons. Yes, the eye candy factor is at play (I am, after all, only a human male) but also because it is extremely important that this event is successful.

Like any industry, there are rifts and cliques and the like. Furthermore, BBWs are still viewed (by some) as being a niche market within the larger industry. Events like this, showing that women can be sexy no matter their size, hopefully can help break down the mindset that pervades much of porn valley.

(I'll have more thoughts on this later. I don't want to get off track.)

As I stated earlier, the Tuscany Suites and Casino are home to the event yet again, a nice property just east of The Strip and just west of UNLV's campus on Flamingo. Not a bad cab ride if you absolutely have to go to the larger properties, but it's also pretty well-self contained. It was a nice layout for the event, and I think that having it there is a wonderful spot for getting business done with a side of fun.

The vibe, as I experienced it on the first day of the event, was a lot of fun. Laid back, friendly people. Not as tense or as bullshit filled as I remember A.E.E. being the last time I went to it a few years ago. The event here is still small enough that you can actually hold a conversation with folks (as I definitely did with a few lovely ladies).

If you buy your package deal now, you will get about 30% off of the cost of your package. Not a bad deal at all. The entry level package during this current sale runs about $99. Not too shabby at all, and worth taking advantage of if you have the means to attend.

Alright. I'll hedge my bets and raise the seed money need up to $25,000.

Now that I look at it...this isn't that easy. Or cheap.

Unless I hit the jackpot, it looks like a pipe dream. I'm better off being a fan, huh?

Event Promotion: Thick Sundaes (10/28/2012)

Review: Fat Pussy

Sometimes I get DVDs and the titles give me pause. Review a film called, “Fat Pussy?” Not normally what I want to do. But it’s from Juicy Entertainment/Plumper Nation, and I had a fairly good experience viewing one of their other films, so I gave it a whirl. The title comes directly from a line in one of the scenes (Kacey Parker) so it made me feel a bit better about reviewing it.

What I Liked
Plumper Nation does a good job finding good looking women and getting them connected with guys who seem to like BBWs. I find that to be refreshing in the films I’ve seen from this company. Also, watching this film there was (gasp!) men going down on women and eating their pussy. It’s shocking in this day and age to find that happening. Too often it’s men getting their dick sucked and on to the sex. As someone who enjoys performing oral sex on his female partner, it brought a tear to my eye. Best scene: Kacey Parker’s. Hands down.

What I Disliked
Like one of the other films from this company, I have to complain about the sound. There were a few scenes that had outdoor setups/pick up scenes, and the sound for the outdoor scenes were (to quote Charles Barkley), “turrible.”

DVD Quality
DVD featured a gallery. That’s it. That’s the list.

Overall Thoughts
Describing another film from this company, I used the term “no frills” to describe what you get. I think that is apt for this one as well.

Review: Plumpers Like It Big

When I was a little kid growing up, we occasionally would go shopping at one of the chain grocery store and buy “no frills”staples. Pantry items, canned goods, etc. The no frills packing (and I vividly remember this) was white labeling with black writing. What does this have to do with the film “Plumpers Like It Big”that was released by Plumper Nation. Consider it very much a “no frills”type of film. That doesn’t mean it is bad; just know that there are not going to be a lot of bells and whistles with the DVD. Different, not better or worse.

What I Liked
The blurb on the back says “Big Girls Like Big Cocks.” I don’t know about that, but I do know that five very beautiful women were featured in some pretty hot sex scenes. Mazzeratie Monica’s scene to lead off was excellent. I’m looking forward to seeing more from this young woman. The other thing I liked, and what I think is sometimes missing from BBW movies, is that the guys actually seemed to be into the sex. I don’t always see the visual representation that the guys are there for more than a check, but this film showed guys who didn’t mind/actually liked being with BBWs.

What I Disliked
The sound quality was a bit up and down for my taste. It could have used better mixing. I know, I know; who watches porn for sound mixing? But it helps to not have to ride volume control on the remote while watching.

DVD Quality
DVD featured a gallery. Oh, and I guess you can pick which scene you want to start with. That’s sums up the extras you get.

Overall Thoughts
While the DVD doesn’t have any extras beyond a photo gallery, this is a case where no frills can be a nice option. The women are beautiful, the sex is entertaining and plentiful without a lot of set up and silly build up. Sometimes simple is good.

Burning Question: Porn Star LTR?

We have a burning question provided by the lovely Betty Blac that I told her I would answer in a blog post instead of a tweet. The question:

Well. Here we go.



I think that it is safe to say that quite a few men would answer this question in the affirmative at first blush. It is a primal male fantasy to have a woman that is sexually liberated be your partner. There has to be quite a bit of ego puffery that comes with saying that your long term partner or wife is a porn actress—even more so if you are a civilian.

Also, to be fair, there is a certain amount of health risk that comes along with having a partner who is in the industry. While testing for HIV and some other basic STIs occurs at least every 30 days, that doesn't mean that things don't slip through the cracks, as the latest health scare involving Mr. Marcus proved.

But risk of injury or compromised health relating to work can happen in any type of relationship, so I don't want to overstate its importance to this discussion.

I believe you have to have a small ego, or one that is not going to be easily bruised. You have to have an open heart and an open mind if you are going to go through with a long term relationship with someone in the industry (again, speaking from the perspective of an outsider). Especially if that person becomes (or is) one of the bigger names on the interwebs and in the media. Thick skin will make a difference. You also might not want to read some of the fanboards. Just for your own sanity.

Those are some of my overarching thoughts. My own personal opinion? Speaking hypothetically? I would be willing to have a long term relationship with someone who worked in porn. But the caveat would be same ones I would have about any relationship: How well do I connect with the person?

Basically:

Is she smart?

Is she funny?

Does she make me happy?

Do I find her attractive?

If I can answer all four in the affirmative, then it would have to be worth a "go" right? Yeah, I know. It's not ideal. But sometimes, if it's love, there isn't time to sit around and wait for the ideal time. Ideal circumstances don't occur every bloody day. So give it a shot.

As far as closed or open, I prefer closed. Or at least a "don't tell me unless I ask about it" situation. Work doesn't count because, hey, we all need to bitch about our shitty co-workers or bosses after a tough day at the office. Or on the set. Or whatever.
